IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD!
We are looking for volunteers to be part of the Action Team for the children’s Sunday School program… FAITH VILLAGE at KUMC. We are anticipating to be able to have in church Sunday School again this fall. This ministry of our church is vital in raising our children to be disciples for Jesus. Faith Village uses the rotation model for teaching. We concentrate on one theme a month using a variety of ways to share Gods message: drama, crafts, singing. games, kitchen, etc. There will be a meeting in May to begin planning for a fall start-up. If you are interested please contact Pastor Jake. Please pray for this very important ministry asking God what talents He has given you to share with the children of our church?
The theme for the month of April is the story of Joseph. A movie will be show at Kasson UMC, Sunday, April 11th at 10:30. Children are required to wear a mask. Take home packets will be available at both churches that contain activities for children to do at home throughout the month. This is geared for children age 3 through 6th grade.
Wednesdays at Kasson UMC at 6:00 pm.
Kasson UMC offers a way to ask for prayers at any time. The prayer chain is a group of people whom will lift up prayers to God when notified of a request. The prayer requests are sent out through an email or phone call. If you would like to be part of the prayer chain group, to pray for others contact Dawn Bowe at email@example.com to get on the email list or Ruth Schomburg to get on the phone list 507-634-7502. To send a prayer request you can contact the church office, Dawn or Ruth.

What is a Small Group?
A Small Group is a group of people who meet twice a month either in person or through zoom and share their faith walk together. This group is designed to provide a place for people who want to know God or know more of God, to grow-starting where they are. It is a confidential environment where members can share, support each other and grow in their faith.
Why should I be part of a Small Group?
We want our faith to make a difference in the way we live our lives. Christian life is a fluid process. People tend to either grow & mature in their faith or decrease in their commitment to their faith. The mission of our church is to “make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world”. Disciples is the only thing Jesus cares about, the only number he is counting. Not our attendance on Sunday, budget or buildings. Small Groups is a place to encourage each other to move forward, to step up in different dimensions of being a disciple of Jesus.
Who is in a Small Group?
Small Groups are open to everyone! Members of both churches and non-members. Currently we have 5 groups meeting. Groups have anywhere from 2 to 10 members. Each group has a coach who helps facilitate the group.
When does a Small Group meet?
Currently we have 5 Small Groups:
Monday evening via zoom – Coach Marina Castner
Tuesday 2:00 in person – Coach Ruth Schomburg
Wednesday via zoom – Coach Chuck Coleman
Thursday evening in person – Coach Lori Root
Those affected by cancer in person – Coach Dawn Bowe
For those who have faced a diagnosis of cancer in the past or are currently facing one now. This group will meet every other week. Time and day to meet will be decided with those whom are interested. If you have been through a cancer diagnosis you can help others whom are facing one now to find God’s love, peace and strength and in turn experience growth in your own faith. If you are interested contact Dawn Bowe email@example.com or call 507-273-4371.
New groups are welcome to form.
